TPMS issues

We got this 2017 Lincoln MKX and recently the tire pressure light came on with a sensor fault message. . I replaced the right rear TPMS sensor after it stopped responding, and that one retrained fine. But the front left sensor never responded , and now both leftside sensors arent communicating during the dealership's awake tool test, even though the dashboard shows correct pressure and the sensors respond when I check manually. The dealer says the communication module is fine and wants to replace both left sensors. Any ideas on the best way to fix this? Even DIY?

I wouldn't cross the sensors as bad just yet. If I'm not mistaken, there should be two antennas on both sides, so if the left side isn't doing anything, then it could be the antenna and not the sensors. To be honest, I'm not sure what DIY trick you can try to confirm what is the problem, especially if you don't have all the right equipment. Maybe someone else here may have an idea.

Good point, i hadn't thought of that angle. Do you happen to know if there's an easy way to test the antenna function without a scan tool ? Or maybe even a simple resistance check to narrow it down?

If both left-side sensors read fine manually but won't communicate during the dealer's test, isn't it possible the issue's with their diagnostic process or equipment rather than the sensors themselves?
